Gila Community College is preparing to host the first annual Rim Country Health and STEAM Fest, a free community event designed to bring together science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics programming alongside health and wellness resources for residents of all ages.
Something for Everyone
The Health and STEAM Fest will feature interactive exhibits, hands-on demonstrations, and educational workshops covering a wide range of topics. Attendees can expect to see robotics demonstrations, science experiments, art installations, health screenings, and fitness activities all in one location.
Local healthcare providers will be on hand to offer free health screenings and information about available services in the community. The event aims to connect residents with resources they might not otherwise know about while making learning fun and accessible for the whole family.
Building Community Connections
Organizers say the event is about more than just education — it's about building connections within the Rim Country community. Local businesses, nonprofits, and educational institutions are coming together to showcase what makes the region special and to inspire the next generation of innovators and health-conscious citizens.
The fest will include food vendors, live music, and activities for children, making it a full day of entertainment and learning. Several local schools are planning to bring student projects and demonstrations to share with the community.
A First of Many
If the inaugural event is successful, organizers plan to make the Health and STEAM Fest an annual tradition in Payson. The goal is to grow the event each year, bringing in more exhibitors and expanding programming to cover new topics and interests.
